I know I need new tube seals, but the metal tubes are pushed up. I talked to my mechanic, he said my pcv valve may be bad and thats how the pressure is being released. He said it'd be $100 for him to do it. I can get the parts for $40 and do it myself. Only reason I don't want to do it, is I won't be able to tell if theres any internal damage.

Dirty Engine bay, yes I know

i doubt there is any internal damge because of the pcv valve being stuck. on the back of your valve cover you also have a breather tube exiting back into your intake system. i would just get the parts and do it myself. just clean up the spark plug tubes really well and replace those plugs. with everything clean, you shouldnt be missing on your firing and you would be able to tell if you sealed the tubes right. g/l.

All you have to do is push the tube back in place...

Im going to do all this monday/tuesday. My sisters fiance is letting me use the garage so, Im going to pull the VC and paint it. As for the breather in the back, I never hooked up the hose to my intake. Can I just stick a small filter on it? Also, will a 1st gen VC fit on my car?

Thanks

Mat

if you put a breather on the back, just check it every once in a while to make sure that the engine oil doesnt clog it. sometimes when high revving the motor, some oil will splash up in the breather and leave iol spots. if it gets covered, it might clog. just speaking from experience.
