Howell Automotive SUCKS!!
Has anyone ever baught a race computer from Howell Automotive? I ordered one last August because of the advertised performance gains but mostly so I could run my car without a catalytic converter. It took 3 months to get, which sucked in and of itself. But that is just the beginning of the story. For about a week it worked great, then it started spitting out the same faulty catalytic converter engine code as the factory computer and running super rough. I informed them of the problem and they didn't really care. Finally I convinced them to take it back and send me one that works. That was in January. I finally got the replacement this week. (speedy service, huh?) I put the new computer in today and guess what. IT WOULDN'T EVEN RUN FOR 2 SECONDS!!!! What a waste of $500!!! Now I'll have to spend more and put a cat back on, because I'm not going to give them another chance. Hopefully they will refund me for the computer. They have terrible customer service. Has anyone else experienced this garbage from them? Or has a race computer from them that actually works? My advice if you haven't purchased anything from them...... DON'T!!![:@]
I have had problems with speed of service and the issue of products in stock (lack there of).
Other than that I really haven't had much problem when I call them and ask for support or information.
It is the speed of service that drew me over to modern vs. howell. My Cardomain has more than... SEVERAL stories on page 3 (now that I am combining all my blogs) of how long it has taken me to receive parts.
keep in mind, howell usually offers the same products for a bit more price too. Another reason why I switched to modern. save a few bucks... plus they are closer so shipping is even faster.

LOL. I ordered the AFX race pcm and it also took almost 3 months for me to get. I use to order all my stuff from them but I noticed that they are slow compared to others. Once I ordered from Modern Performance, I was sold from then on. Modern ships their stuff asap. Not only that, Howell is more expensive than majority or close to all the products sold when compared to Modern performance.
My pcm was okay though. Worth $540 dollars??? No. It is nice to know that your top speed limiter is eliminated though.
