be careful... as he said it will bolt up to the block. Let me know how you get the axels to work though. Nobody has done, that i know of... although i haven't seen the 1st gen post you are talking about.

It is a bigger tranny and they are known for breaking 3rd gear.
Several people have done it on 2GN when they went built motor and big turbo...you just need the SRT-4 axles, knuckles/hubs since they are equal length as opposed to ours.

so i was looking at work today, and according to my computer the cv shafts r the same for the srt and se neon??????? the book also states that as well..... is this right, because i know rt stated that they were the same lenght on an srt???? if they end up being the same i am guessing it should be a direct swap, no cv or spindle change at all.... just a bolt in???????????

It's possible... but your initial statement is not entirely correct. It will bolt up to the block fine. But getting the axels to work, as i mentioned, takes some work. The mount for the half shafts is meant to be fastened to the 2.4l block. Without fabrication of a new mounting plate, it will not "bolt up" as you mention.

I've searched high and low and i haven't found one person that has succesfully done it. Do you have any links? I'd like to see the axel mounting set-ups.

thanks
