i was just lookin at the first gen posts, and saw one about the srt tranny goin into a first gen, but i was wondering about putting an 04-05 srt tranny in my car??? or a pt gt tranny??? are they the same tranny mounts as ours??? i know that they will bolt up to ours but i kinda want the lsd in my car.. pushing as much power as i will have by the end of the year???

also what is the difference between the gt or srttrannys and ours?? are they beefed up at all for the higher hp srt?? or is it just the lsd???? becasue if they r the same internally then i will not waste my money.....

and will my clutch from my 2.0 tranny go into a srt tranny?????

The SRT-4 and PT GT T850 transmissions will bolt up to our cars, you'll just need the transmission mounts from the SRT-4 to make it work, and all the other parts obviously. Your 2.0 clutch will not work in the T850 so you'll need to look for another clutch, or hope the stock SRT/PT GT clutch will hold up. The T850 is more appropriate for higher HP, which is why its in the SRT-4.

 

thanks rt, but i will have to find one now, and then also i will have to try to afford another clutch..... someone owes me a favor at my old auto parts store i used to work at, so maybe i can get "hooked up" but is the srt clutch still a modular clutch??? and i have hurd some bad things about the srt trannys?? such as third gear goin in them?? is this true? and is the tranny much bigger than ours?? i saw on the first gen section that the srt tranny is a bigger tranny??????

be careful... as he said it will bolt up to the block. Let me know how you get the axels to work though. Nobody has done, that i know of... although i haven't seen the 1st gen post you are talking about.

It is a bigger tranny and they are known for breaking 3rd gear.

 

even the lsd trannys are not good either???? i am just wondering what i should do because i can either build my 2.0 tranny or go srt tranny????????? srt tranny would prolly be cheaper... but if they r not reliable then i dont think i want the headache, just because in my town the srt is non existant in my junkyards????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????? so shippin would suck if i had to get another tranny????????????????

 

i never said they are no good... My brother is on his 3rd SRT-4. 2 of the 3 broke 3rd gear. Both were 2005s so none is better than the other.

 

i deff know that i will not get the 03 version, i want the lsd....... so maybe 04-05 if i can find one for a good price, that may be the problem though[:@]
