Default Should I buy this?

Hey. I have an opportunity to buy an 03 Neon SXT (is that what it's called...or something like that). It's really sweet: interior is perfect, cherry red paint, nice little spoiler, custom wheels, factory 6 disc CDchanger in the dash, it's loaded. Has the 2.0 with a 5 speed. Currently runs good.

Only one problem it has 139,000 miles on it (WAY high for an 03)...it is $3900.

Seems like a good deal. How do these cars do with high miles on them? I drive quite a bit and I want it to last a few years. Will it go to 250k or so with no problems?

What do you all think?

Look at the Kelly Blue Book. The price there asking is right where it should be. See if you can talk them down through. I doesnt hurt to try. http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/Pric...QuizConditions=

Cars are high and especially the cars that you can turn into turners.

If the timing belt, head gasket, water pump, clutch, and regular maintenance have been done on the car I don't see any problems with it...even with 140k on the clock. Othewise, don't even bother because all of those thing I listed will need to be done...

He has a point ^^^. Ask them for a service report. If it looks like you say they might have kept up with the maintence.

with the regularmaintence of all items listed above then it should be fine. I would also ask for any records they might have. I have an 02 with less then 55xxx on it I have only changed the alt and transmission (I ripped the gears apart). Try and talk the price down and push for any knowledge of previous maintance. This has been a really good fun, comfortable, reliable vehicle.

So are you going to buy it or not? Did you talk about price?
