Default Engine Problem

My 2002 SE stick shift drive fine but when some time i gas it too hard and let go clutch i hear a loud KNOCK sound some where near the engine and when i shift to early like 2nd gear or 3rd gear on a 15 or 20 mph and FULL THROTTLE IT it does it more often like a sick KNOCK sound that loud and when the KNOCK SOUND APEAR my car won't go unless I let go the gas pedal and gas it again. other than that if I step on the the pedal gently and drive smoothly nothing is wrong this happen more often when I have my AC on because I gas it harder . IF some one has the same problem before and know how to fix it please let me know.

i dont have a stick either but maybe its something to do with your clutch?? or friction plate or something like that. usually if something like that is STARTING to go out, it only fails under extreme conditions but acts ok under normal conditions.

Sounds like a synchro or clutch issue...

man is this going to be exspensive to fix? a tran or any type of gear? but i think it mostly more like a clutch problem then because the sound seem to be coming from there near the clutch area like infront of the driver seat.... another thing is that now when i throttle it up hill somtime it kind of jumpy like lagging and feel like miss fireing or somthing so i had to down shift to high rpm it... i had it since 2002 and never change clutch is that any posible chance of the problem?

The clutch (if it is that) is way cheaper to fix than a tranny. Do you have a good mechanic around you that you trust? If so just take it there and let them tell you.

I just realize that it only happen when I use any type of AC or defrosting .... could it be the AC compressor that causes it? I heard for a Manual the compressor has some with for the clutch also...
