Default fuel mileage

I have a 2005 dodge neon, I have put alot of time and money into it, I recently ugraded from my old flowmaster muffler to a Exhaust offa 2005 dodge neon srt 4, I used to get good mileage but now it just sucks, When i had my Exhaust changed I had my Upper and lower 02 sensor changed, Horrible gas mileage. Sounds great. Seems I can see my gas gauge move.. Any Idea's

you could be like me and be on the throttle way too much so it kills the mileage.

I get between 19 to 24 mpg around town and 32 to 35 on the highway. With R/T exhaust, K&N filter, MSD wires, NGK spark plugs, Screaming Demon Dist. My car is '05 Dodge Neon SXT with a 5 speed. I drive my car fairly hard I shift it around 3,500 - 4,500 RPM.

Man, if you drove it easy and shifted under 2700, youd probably be on easy street with the MPG

OK Folks... I think I'm running into the same issue here. I bought my 05 Neon used with about 60K on it. (stock everything) Since I bought it I changed the plugs and the oil. I get about 230 mile to a "tank" of gas. The last time I filled up I had driven 232.7 miles and added 9.235 gallons of gas to fill the tank. That comes up to about 25.2 miles /gallon combination highway / city driving. No hard driving... I'm an old man :-)

City/highway driving? How long are your average trips in the car every day?

I travel a lot for my company so its one week leaving Sundayfor the airportand returning Friday(134 highway miles round-trip), and the next week I'm in the office Monday thru Friday(9 city miles round trip). I don't gun it at stop lights or try to beat my own time gettingto wherever. As I said... I'm an old man.

That probably has a lot to do with the slightly lower mileage...
