well tom, to get into the 15s u can do it na, but i would suggest a turbo setup, i am currently runing 8psi (current meaning two years ago when the car was on the accual road) i was running 13.89 in a quarter but one that is not a cheap thing to do... i just like to tell everyone when they r starting a turbo project it is NOT cheap, and plan to have problems with the car, durabiltiy and drivablity is not that good for the first month.... u have to mess with stuff, oil leaks, tuning, ext. if i were u i would go the same way i did, build the head, get one from a junk yard, and save up some money here and there, and get a cam, springs valves, ext. and build that first, the car will only be down max two days, if u run into problems and have to order parts.. seeings it is ur dd, i would do it this way.... have the extra head and just swap heads, makes it faster and less of a hassel. this is what i did, my car WAS my dd, and it worked great, it was down two days becasuse i snapped a cv shaft the day i got the head on.... oops...... i put a clutch in it at the same time i did the head... then go from there, it u like the way the car feels and moves then go with an na set up, but just be aware for me speed was addiction that i am like a crack ***** i am addicted... i want to go faster and faster... honestly for the show part go to neonon19s (nate) i think his car is the nicest looking on the forum.... i have done stuff to my exterior but most do not catch them...and honestly that is the way i like it.... i have some suddle stuff done such as molded spoiler, and custom bumper and hood, but besides that the car is stock but i would rather pull up next to a camero and know he is going to loose than look good loosing.... HAHAHA trust me there is nothing like seeing some puck *** kid in his mommy and daddys camero get smoked by a neon 2.0... it is alot of fun.... my car i think is a "sleeper" some may disagree and rightfully so, but i have done very suddle stuff to make my car stand out and be sleek and smooth, granted by the pics u can not get a true feeling of the car but everyone will when it pulls out of the garage in a few short months.... my overall goal is 400whp... we will see, but with the turbo that i will be ordering on monday it will be time to show some vettes up i am hoping...

one more thing, build the car the way YOU want it built!!!!!! becasue we all drive neons and guess what u will never make back what u put into a car, my car is finally paid off and trust me it will not be going anyware for a very long time.... i am single and i will garentee if a girl comes along and says u need to get rid of my car my answer will be simple...."nope i need to get rid of u" i have more time in my car than most do in there houses, i am sure most will testify to that on this forum..... days and nights have when into this thing but it is my baby, and i dare anyone with for now a stock camero to mess with it, because soon a built camero will not stand a chance...

DTJ- You make my eyes hurt trying to read all of that.. .LOL You sure have some weird hours working on you car... 213 in the morning???? I was dreaming i was driving my hennissess viper at that time LOL.

You need to build what you want man. it has to be safe especally if you are carting kids around. do a little mods to the engine keep it NA. You could do a stroker kit on it making it a 2.2 and put a juice on it and you should do fine.

u might need this.... back to the garage, just a quick update and a few pics, it sucks being so cold out the paint is not dryin very fast, lol fenders hood and bumper coming off hopefully in the next hour....



i am putting the intake and turbo manifold on tomorrow and hopefully droppin it in tomorrow as well....

well if my dumb *** would of rememberd to turn my camera off after using it i would of been able to show all of u THEN ENGINE IS BACK IM MY CAR!!!! 2 am. but well worth it... i fought with the mounts, they were a bitch with just one guy but it is back in and pics will come tomorrow after i charge my batterys tonight....

 

damn at your rate by the time i get vacation in march you'll have it all back together and all the bugs worked out of it. lol
