Default I need a new muffler

Ok I`m needing a new muffler really soon. I want one that is not $$$ and the main thing about it is MPG! So what is the best muffler for MPG that would not cost me an arm and a leg?

hmmm... most peeople on here replace a muffler (other than stock) for either the sound, the performance,or the look (or all)
Don'y really know of any that increase the MPG...other than sticking to a stock replacement

I will have the shop do it so it can be cut I guess. Even a mile or two more on the MPG would help.

i would look arround for an axle back system. that way all you have to do is unbolt and then bolt on the new muffler. i would go with namebrand, so you know your getting your money's worth

You can always go to your parts store and pick up a Cherrybomb for $25...
I've never heard of mufflers giving you any significant changes in MPG

I had a Flowmaster 30-series on my car right after I bought it new. It finally rusted this year and began to flake apart, so I replaced it with a straight-thru Thrush 25" glasspack... it is actually SLIGHTLY quieter than the 30-series flow was, and since I cut the stock exhaust pipe to slip it on to the car, it avoided extra bends, restriction, time, and money for the self-install. Was able to even fit a stainles tip on it and run it out of the drivers side where the left factory cut-out should have been (and now is). Just my 2 cents, although everyone prefers something different sometimes.

My personal preferrence is a nice aftermarket performance muffler. I don't like the bulky, bland OEM muffler or the wimpy turn-down that hangs off of it. Just my preferrence then.
