Well I've been paying attention to it today, and maybe it's just me, but it seems now that with a nice coolant flush and fill, don't hear it... hmm.

when i overfilled my resivwa it bubbled and spewed out the top.heres what i would do..let your car cool down and open your cap and make sure its good and full.then check your resivwa or whatever and make sure its not past the max point.it builds pressure and gets really hot.

what N3ON said... I wouldn't sweat it too much, what you are hearing/experiencing is not detrimental to your motor or anything else...

Please be advised, this is just a test, if this had been a real emergency, you would have grabbed your ankles by now... lol

MY radiator is full - rust colored. I cannot see into the reserve tank at all so am not sure. I just bought a 2002 Neon SXT with 51K miles on it. The temp gauge in the car is cool but, when I shut the car off, it sounds like gurgling / thunder inside the car and, eventually, outside the car. When I open the hood it sounds like it is coming from the antifreeze plastic jug under the dash. However I also hear it on the radiator cap. I do not see any leaks either. The car smells like maple syrup (antifreeze) but no leaks. The car feels hot as hell on the quarter panels too! Is this the thermostat or something more expensive? The A/C runs GREAT and, during drive, the car is quiet and runs smooth. SOME say it's the head gasket, SOME say a cooling fan relay, SOME say the thermostat (it's 16 psi), SOME say it is the overflow tank hose, SOME say the coolant temp sensor, SOME say the heater control valve, get the problem I am having?? I only have 2 DAYS to return my vehicle so it is important that I know EXACTLY what this is!! Thanks!

Did you ever find out what was making the "gurgling" sound?
