hey yall...
I searched and couldnt find anything similar to this...When I run my AC often my neon will run like ****...its a 2000 ES ATX...Anyways, sometimes when I run the AC and need to drive in reverse, the car will jerk (almost like it's missing) to the point where it nearly dies..but it hangs on and as soon as I pop it into drive its good..however when I do drive it w/ the AC on acceleration is very poor and it shifts kinda hard...any tips or ideas are appreciated!

Its a neon thing, I was reversing up a hill with mine and it stalled. Plus, who the hell uses their ac when gas is $4 a gallon.

 

haha amen to that...I only use it when the heat is unbearable...honestly i prefer to drive w/ the windows down but sometimes its just too damn hot

 

I have only used my ac once this summer, because my buddies gf was whining, her hair was getting messed up by the wind. I always have my windows down, even though I just effed up one of my switches, ohh well junkyard run.

ac just uses a hella lot of gas and power so it makes up for that loss power by giving your engine less gas and power so it sux really bad...when i stick my arm out the window and im going like 40 and it feels like an oven i might use it but its pointless when you use almost 2X the gas...

 

hmm..I wonder if my fuel injectors might be clogged and the vehicle isnt getting enough gas to run right while the AC is on..maybe i'll run some fuel injector cleaner through it

 

It's a 2 litre 4 cylinder, what do you expect? Air conditioning robs powerand you don't have excess to begin with. It is proven that running the air above 45 mph verses having the windows down uses less gas due toreducedaerodynamic drag. Besides when driving with the windows down in my wifes Neon, I can't hear her complaining about my speeding.............wait a minute here![sm=confused06.gif]

For some reason my car seems to use less gas with the windows down on the highway. I think the neon might be an exception to that study...because these AC'S without a UDP are pretty damn powerful. The car loses a LOT of power
