Did a tiny bit to the neon today
Instead of getting just a mm insert I was going to buy the mpx dogbone style mm, because its more appealing and will fit in with what the car will look like soon.
ugh, the car was dong random squeeling on the way home. It could be becuase it was really wet out but i doubt it.
dtjackten: whats a booma????

Mine was doing tha too recently... just had to slightly tighten the alternator belt and presto done...
And yeah I like the look of the mm's but filling them with a robust urethane is good enough for me... I like looks, but I guess right now Im not picky about that, functionality is my goal under the hood at the moment.

my motor mounts are kind-of worn, and im going to replace them. so do i have to buy the whole new torque arms and the polyurethane inserts or can i just buy the inserts and put them into the existing torque arms, since they are fine? any help appreciated.
Well if they're ok like you say then just buy the inserts only and put them in, you should notice a great difference right away trust me. Me, I prefer the urethane fill idea with mine, but thats just me, because Im too broke to buy the inserts lol (3 kids and a wife and an ex-wife to feed, lol).
yeah my stock rubber, or whatever it is, is showing slight cracking but no movement. so i just take the torque arm off, pry out the existing rubber, and put the polyurethane insert in? i just want to make sure i do it the right way.
so you do not have to take the torque arm off to put the inserts in? btw, thanks for that pdf, i could read about my car for days if i wanted to. im sure this will help my dad fix my car in no time. thanks again.
Um well don't know about that, I just am telling you DO NOT remove or "peel off" or anything else to your original mounts if you do that.
Congrats to your dad for helping you, dont mean to be nosey, but maybe you should help him out a bit with it... if you plan on keeping your Neon for a while, then it would be a good idea to see things in peices and understand what makes it tick (or not tick)... next time theres a problem it may help in a diagnosis.
