I was thinking about taking my strips off, but the bubbling paint/flaking/fade etc etc issue makes me a bit cautious to try it.

yeah although as much as I would love to remove my side moldings, I also don't want to because I am afraid of the same reason.
My car has like 4 different blues. lol

i took mine off, and i used a eraser wheel to get the 3M tape off. i tried the goo gone but it wasnt working well at all for me. with the eraser wheel, youjust put it on a drill and go slow. works beautifully.

Yeas as long as you go slow. The heat gun I think works the best and as for the fade in paint I have an 05 with 20,000 mile son it now and didnt see an issue but I do keep it in the garage so IDK. anyway good luck and let us know how it works out. Also mat663 thanks for the tips on pics but I tried that and they still say the pics too big. I will try again later on thanks.

yeah I need one badly. But first I need springs and struts. I have around 148k miles so I think I need to change them. But my ride quality feels totally fine. So I have to hold back on the paint job, and plus I don't have the money.

Actually, I wonder if it is even worth painting the neon since they are getting pretty old. lol

Do they still build neon motors brand new these days so we can swap for basicallya new neon?
