I was going to do mines but I dont want it to look like I took them off cause of the paint fade difference.

dont goto maaco.lol.their clear coats scrape off like S***
Just dont clear-coat it then... no flaking, and save money! lol

As far as the trim, mines only 4 yrs old, but Im still nervous to try it... maybe if I try it and things go to **** on me like bad paint fade, flaking, etc... Ill just repair it then put the moldings back on to cover it up lol... Yeah I know, ghetto, but hey Im on a limited budget at the moment.

Well, you painted those stripes so effing well, why do you fear the side moldings? it's the same concept isn't it? You can nail it.

Ha ha, well for me, I would rather re-paint those stripes again than have to prep, sand, fill, prime, sand, prime, sand, prime, paint, paint, paint some more, rub down, paint clear, paint more clear, then PRAY TO GOD that the entire door isnt a completely different shade of silver than the rest of the car... lol

HeyI just wanted to point out that my car lives oustide never been garaged and is an '05. 100 degree summers and snow in the winter. I had no paint fade on my doors at all. But I also took care of my paint since it was new. It's waxed2 to 3 times a year. If you paint is fadedyou probaly don't want to pull off you side moldings.

u can also just buff the doors when u pull the moldings off, to blend the paint if it has been faded..... just an easy way to fix it if u have that kinda problem
