So as the exhaust went on I popped off the power steering belt. The guy tried to put it back on and accidentally cracked the power steering pulley. Anyone know of someone selling one or if I can take on off a 1gen neon and still use it on mine?

Wow... just curious, how did the belt come off during the exhaust swap? And how the heck did the guy crack the pulley? Jeezus...

I would hit the junkyard and just rob the pump and pulley from there.

I have no idea it happens. We put it on and wanted to hear what it would sound li ke. Hit the gas and he told me that the belt flew popped off the pulleys. The guy to.ok a screwdriver to get it back on and cracked the power steering pulley. Belt is fi ne though lol.

Would one from a first gen work or would I actually have to go hit the junkyard?

im not sure if one from a 1st gen would work, but if da belt just came off, then u should check ur pump. if u can move ur pulley in and out then u might want to rebuild ur pump, i had to rebuild my pump once and then da next i needed to buy a new one. i went through 6 pullyes

FYI in the future, try to flush and re-fill your PS system with new fluid every 25k miles or so... seems to be a few more threads about this floating around the net. I have been doing this since 40k, now at 83k, and having no probs. I can tell you that even at 40k, the fluid seemed to be pretty toasted. Supposedly this PM measure will prolong the life of our prone-to-fail pumps...

Well I bel.ieve the pulley is normal just pos.sibly knocked the belt off when taking off all the pip.ping for the exhaust.

Oh and I started pulling two codes on my car too.

P0551 Power Steering Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance ... I believe it's this one. Pretty sure about it.
P1685 Metering Oil Pump Stepping Motor Circuit Malfunction

Any ideas about them?

Anyone know of some one that would want a flowmaster 60 series exhaust with a chrome tip?
