Cool K&N Cold air intake

I have a 2002 Neon SXT. I`m thinking of getting a Cold Air intake for it. I`m looking at them on ebay and I could use alittle help. I hear that K&N makes a good one so that is what I`m looking at. There is a bunch on there for around 50 bucks and then some that are like 180-200 bucks. What is the dif between the two? I want to go as cheap as I can go but I don`t want to buy a hunk of junk. Also does a cold air intake help with gas milage at all? Or just horsepower? The links to the two dif ones on ebay are below. Thoughts? Thanks......

Cheap one.

Expensive one.

With the k&n you are basically paying for the name. It does have better quality than the ebay cai but you will be fine if you get an ebay cai just go out an get a k&n air filter.

hey MATTWV88 just go with a ebay one like srtgtr34 said.the only reason to go for the k&n or a AEM one is for the name and if you want brand name stuff on ur car.
i made the mistake of paying like $280 for my AEM one about 3 years ago but its worth it youll get somewhat of better/same mileage depending if you have a stock exhaust.

but yeah ebay cold air intake with k&n filter or AEM dry flow filter.

Ok I feel stupid for asking this but what is the dif. between the stock air intake I have and one of the cold air intakes? The one I have now runs down into the fender wall so I don`t understand what a cold air intake would do that is not already being done. Someone please enlighten me. lol. Thanks

I had a K&N cold air on my 03 SXT with Pacesetter Manza exhaust. Let me just say that the power was nice, but the fuel consumption was more! I went through gas a lot faster. I have since gone back to stock exhaust and intake.

the difference between stock and a aem cai is that u get alot more air in and its fresh and colder than that a stock one would be. and yeah the stock one does go down that same way into the fender wel but the filter is located up top and the aftermarket cai filter is designed to be at the fender wel whee it gets more air / fresh air being ur car is somewhat cooler and runs better and u push more air dont know exactly how much but it depends.

i saw improvements when i got mine on 3 years ago.
