I have a manual. I can hit my speed limiter with no problem at all. I have taken my car to the drag strip and run it probably over 100 times. I have seen only a few people with 03-05 non-rt neons who have run a faster time then me without nitrous/turbo. So I either know how to drive or my car is freakish. It might be both, don't know. Taking out the foglight is like putting an exhaust on and thinking you got mad power now because of the noise. If you want to do something that will make a difference then take as much weight out as you possibly can. That does make a difference and has been proven to do so.

Taking the light out isn't like an exhaust. I don't expect mad power either. I'm just saying that it did make a difference. Before my car got stuck at about 118mph and when I took the light out i was able to get to 120 and actually scared the crap out of me when it cut my fuel off. Big jerk lol.

Here is the thing...to make our cars faster most of us are trying to get more air in the car. That is all a turbo and nitrous does. More air. So I figure there is this light blocking the wind from getting into my CAI. So I took it out and I did notice a difference. I'm not the first to do this. After I took mine out I found out Graphite did it. And some people go even farther and take their headlight out.

 

Yeah, I've hit 16 flat probably 5 times. I have seen 3-5 maybe that have just squeeked under 16 seconds. I would be under 16, but I never have been able to find the right combination to get off the line. My 60 foots are average at best. But there is a very fine line between giving it too much gas and not enough gas off the line and every track/day is different. I have raced cavys from a stop/roll and I always win. I raced a z24 at the drag strip and lost, he was about .5 seconds faster then me.

 

Alright, I just did some research on cavaliers. Found out the the LS sport replaced the z24. Not sure if his is just LS or LS Sport. Any ways to find out? He probably doesn't know either lol.

Yeah, I hadn't launched in a while before the race so I quickly tried to figure some stuff out. I was launching at 4k but when I slipped the clutch I didn't give it any gas so I was bogging real bad. I think I got it way better now. Not perfect but better.

 

i beaten like 5 cavaliers thinking they got a shot. but the only cav i didnt beat was running JE pistons and eagle rods and a SRI. i was wit him through 2 gear but after 3 he was gone

 

... you need the driver mod my friend.... you should not bog down if you are launching from 4k rpm... unless you took your foot off the gas completely.... anyways.... get the fat chick outa the passenger seat and if you have subs lose them for the race, then go at it and have no mercy... you should beat him...

Btw, i have my launch problems solved. And no...i don't need the driver mod. Still lost from a 60mph roll...you really can't screw that up. I found out that he has an ls sport. Thats what replaced the z24 in 2002. So he is running 140bhp. I don't have subs because it weighs...and the race wasn't all that serious so the my brother being in the car wasn't a big deal. We had places to go.
