Default Got smoked by a stock cavy...

Yeah, so I've got my slow neon. It has the MM inserts, magnecore wires, CAI, shortshifter...and thats pretty much it. It is also MTX while my friends stock LE cavy is ATX(not z24). So he gets this car thinking its so fast. I have never raced a cavy but I hear neons destroy them. This kids stock car some how beat a z24...i don't get it. Then he beats me! I had nothing but bad launches from a dig. Then we went to the highway and did 60mph rolls. He would beat me by about 1 car to 2 cars once we got to about 90 to 95mph. I did have an extra person in the car with a full tank of gas while he was half tank.

I don't get it...has anyone raced a cavelier?

I have a 2002. It is really getting to me. Because he thinks hes fast and that ticks me off lol. err!! I mean...some how he beat a z24. He has a 2002 and the z24 was like a 98 or something.

Would an extra 200lbs really make a difference? I really want a rematch. On top of that I removed my fog light to get more air to the CAI. I did some timed runs from 20-60mph there was a difference too. So thats another ghetto mod.

Yeah, I've raced many cavaliers in my day. I never have had a problem beating them unless it was a Z24. Or unless they were turbocharged or something.

Taking the fog light out isn't really going to do anything for you. You probably need the driver mod if you can't beat a cavalier.

Driver mod = good driver. Some people can drive and some can't. I'm just saying. Maybe there is something wrong with his car.

actually...taking out the fog light helped a lot. I could never really hit my speed limiter until I took out my fog light. Now its a piece of cake. I also did some run times with a stopwatch. I know its not accurate but we did 3 runs with light and 3 without and the times were like a .4 second difference consistently. From the dig I could have used the driver mod but on the highway...i only shifted one time and it was pretty much flawless. I did miss 4th once but that was it. My car is also manual so...yeah. Gears are different than atx.
