I believe you can grab a 1000 watt system from PepBoys called Magnum. It has a single box with 2 12's and a small single channel or 2 channel (I can't remember) amp. And I believe that the whole thing is around $150....but I have seen that a few months ago, I am not sure if they still carry that right now.

u could get by with a single sub, deck, amp, speakers, tweeters, my set up cost 1300 and if i blow anything up i get it replaced for free. so sometimes its worth it to spend a lil more. but in my case all my speakers / tweeters were toast so for me it was necessary

i work at best buy(in the "car-fi" dept.)... for a sound system that will last and sound good you will end up paying over $450 for speakers and a good headunit... if you want a sub and amp bump that price up to like $1000... (amp install kits aren't cheap, and neither is labor)

Idk if you have a FRY'S electronics by you, but they have a Fusion sub enclosure kit, It includes a 12 inch sub in a box, with all the wiring you will need as well as an amp for bout 160 dollars. I have it in my car and the thing puts out a lot! They also make a two 12's with custom box for bout 200 and change. Also go to crutchfield for decks at a really good price. I paid 150 for mine, and its got everything you really need.

You get what you pay for. Remember that when shopping for electronics.

well the only problem with crutchfield is they have an almost 100%markup!! They have really good clearance sales but I dont suggest to buy anything tha has just come out from them. Ive been in the car audio industry for 14+ years so ive been around. If you do a decent used system which if you know what to look for, nowadays you can get an awesome setup for 5-600 bucks. Where you located I got a basement full of car aduio stuff and get more like every weekend from jobs I do. Let me know what your lookin for.
