i walked into my garge today and thought, is it REALLY going to be worth building my car for 400whp? is it going to be worth all the money to do? is it REALLY going to get ANY respect from other sport compact people? or are people going to say its still just a neon? (granted that really has never bothered me before?) i guess the big question is will i get any respect from "higher" crouds than just people local? will it ever get into a mag? one of my goals in my lifetime is to get a car into a mag, not nessasarly a cover shot or a story, just a shot, like at a nopi, or carlisle event photo? or has this sport compact writers went for the evos, and the stis, supras, (u get the point) the cars that not every joe shmo can afford to buy? i have a feeling because "roach" has already done what i am trying to "duplicate" or atleast atempt to duplicate will this car (my car) ever make it big, or will it just stay a neon with 400whp? who cares we have seen that before kinda attitude??? dont get me wrong i did not build the car to specifically get into a mag, but that is kinda why i am going so high in hp...i am building the car to drive AND show....

i kinda wish we had a poll still on this site, i would deff use it today...

i dont know if i am just getting frustrated becasue my fuucking car is still sitting in the garage a year and i have not driven it, or frustrated because the money is not coming around fast enough?

Yeh I agree with dj. All of us here on the forums have always been looking forward to your finished project sever since you began it, and now you won't let us down will you?

Besides, lets say if you decide not to go with finishing it? The neon will sit in your garage with nothing to do and I doubt you would be able to sell it because i dont think anyone would want to buy a half built neon and have to tow it/build it up themselves/etc. And what car will you drive if you finish it? Your DD? Well, that is not really fun at all would it? Wouldn't your life feel empty if if drove a slow DD instead of the car that I worked so hard on but decided to quit?

Never give up on your dream(s). Go for it. I have plans too and I know its hard when the $$$ isnt there or coming fast enough, but hey all we can do is keep our hopes and dreams alive and do it little by little.

yeah, frustration is DEFF kicking in for me, just not sure what i want to do, i could put it back together and drive it with only 8psi like before but i dont want to do that.... i just needed some reasurence that the work will be worth it in the long run.... i guess we will find out soon.... it might be in like 20 years the way my money is being saved but oh well

there is a problem with doing things little by little for me karr..... the stuff that is little i have done, so littaly the car is going to SIT there till the engine is done and tranny is done... i have done the interior, the only other thing that i can really do is a gauge pod for my nitrous pressure gauge.... besides that the car is done, it is also going to get painted, black, but srt charger black not stock black... and maybe alittle bit of "goast" in it... but we will have to wait and see about that.... the problem is i am one of those people that hate to see stuff not finished and it is driving me nuts right now... also i have alot of plans for that car, but engine and trans has to be done first becasuse what is big brake kit with no engine or trans?

Yeah well since you have a goal you have to cut back so you can save a little more so you can finish faster. You have a lot done so your almost to the last lap. You started the race now its time to push harder and finish/win the race.

I say keep on it. It's not just another neon it's YOUR neon that you built and put countless hours and money into. If you don't mind me asking how much are you saving at a time? If you want you can pm the answer.

I got my car for my 18th b-day and almost a yr later im JUST beginning to embrace my neon and customize it, and I also ask myself will people still say "its nice but just a neon" and will ppl always tell me i shouldve just gotten an srt4 instead. But im young and cant afford one, so its just me and my neon. And i love to see that someone is so optimistic about their 2nd gen. cuz it makes me optimistic about mine. So stick it out to the end and that alone will gain respect and self satisfaction. (tear) lol
