That's okay, for $150+, K&N will promise you an extra 4.22 hp and sell you almost the exact same thing!

OH yeah man that extra 4.22 hp is deff worth 150 of my dollars.
I only did it that way cuz i wasn't spending 10 dollars on a paper piece of crap filter so i bought this one for 25 dollars and recharge it every once in a while. Reminds me i need to recharge it soon it's kinda getting dirty.

here, lemme translate:
The only way around the NGC thing so far, part of it anyway, is to run an EFIE box (electronic fuel injector enhancer) in series with the O2 sensors, and run it with a DPST relay (double pole, single throw) to control it on/off for whatever fuel consumption you want. Other than that, no other huge off-the-shelf mods for the NGC's yet...

NGC (New/Next Generation Computer) is the general term for the ECU in my car (or any Neon built between '03-'05). Officially, NGC mean "Next Generation Controller," but you get the idea...
The NGC ECU in my car (it's an '04) is much different than the ECU in your car, or previous technologies. Your ECU is dumber (no offense) and allows certain bolt-ons and mods to be done, and give you some significant results.
The NGC computer is smarter than sh*t, and constantly is monitoring everything in the car, trying to keep EVERYTHING with the motor running the exact same way all the time. Basically, throwing a bolt-on to the car with the stock NGC will eventually do nothing... the ECU will quickly re-table the changes, and make the motor go back to the operating power window where it was originally intended to be at. It's a very convenient and slick ECU... but when it comes to mods, it is a pain in the butt and requires some hard work and creativity to work around... unlike the ECU in your (KARR) car, which could be fooled relatively easily and not care.
