transmission parts... for built tranny..
where can i go to get internal tranny parts that will hold the hp i am aiming to get??? (400whp for those who do not know)
Assuming you don't go over 400 whp, I would say that the tranny will probably hold up, except for the differential and the clutch. I would try Howell Automotive for some beefier differential components. I know they sell a LSD (limited-slip diff) kit...
As far as the clutch, there is no way the stock clutch would ever take 400, probably not even 200... I personally am a fan of Centerforce. They make a couple different applications for our cars, and the price isn't too bad for what you are getting. In other vehicles, whenever I installed a Centerforce clutch, I never had to worry about it again.
Hope that helps...

You'll need a beefy clutch, as the stock clutch "technically" can only hold 160wtq...
For transmission parts, I would seriously consider investing in an LSD for a few reasons. You also have to watch out for the differential pins, I heard when Roach hit his 400whp mark at one point some pins shot out of the transmission case...he found a way around that by welding in a metal band/bracket to give extra support during hard use.
Otherwise, get some Redline or RP syncromesh transmission fluid, service all the gaskets, and call it a day.
The other option is swapping in an 04-05 T850 transmission from an SRT-4 (not a direct swap as Im sure your aware but far from impossible).

alrgiht, well i got a quote for a rebuild for my tranny and it was 500 dollars, i did not think that was bad for state of mind,
as for a clutch that is already covered from last year, i have a centerforce duel friction clutch.. we will see how that goes though. it is rated for 500hp so i think it will be ok... or atleast i hope, sometimes companys up the rating on the clutch for what ever reason.... i am thinking that an lsd is a must but are pricey... that might be a next year thing... try to worry about getting the car back together and tuned first before lsd is worried about.... thanks for the help. i will have to see how the money is first... before i try to use the stock tranny or not.... (dont really want to) at least a rebuild would be better i would think

Damn I'm good
. LOL j/k.
Well, the Howell LSD conversion is always under $300 every time I have looked at it. I am not a huge fan of Howell, but it's a start.
Just to comment on the synthetic trans fluid, I would lean more to the Redline than the RP. I haven't seen any recent analysis, but IMO the Redline doesn't sheer quite as easy as the RP does.

modern has it, and i will never go to howell again after bull shi t in the past with them.... that is cheap, but i would want someone to do it for me... dont know much about interanal diffs, and trannys...
i could do the engine myself to save some money but i would rather spend another 400 and have state of mind that i did not forget something and blow the sob up! hmmm... do u guys REALLY think the stock internals of a tranny would hold 400whp?

I'm pretty sure that's only for the Phantom "LSD"...a real limited slip differential like a Quaiffe is going to run you $1,000+ new...but as far as I know, if you find a junked T850 where the differential is still good, you can swap it directly into a T350. Don't quote me on that though but I'm 90% sure that it swaps over.

Hmm, I that would be very interesting if the SRT diff swaps into our cases without any major problems... as long as it wasn't an '03 of course (would be a waste of time to have 400 whp and no LSD, in my opinion).
dt, from everything I have ever heard, almost everyone has agreed that the rest of the T350 internals will take 400 hp. I have heard claims of around 440 whp with a non-defective tranny with OEM internals (besides the diff, of course). Given the multiple sources out there that I have heard this from, I would like to think that you will be fine with what you are shooting for.
Also, I am curious what the size and the weight of the diff in the T850 really is... I know the whole tranny weighs 80 pounds or more than the T350, I suppose I am curious where that weight is added to... all over, or just in one spot known for weakness, like the update LSD in '04. ? Hmm...
