lol ridiculous, iowa read my post before, if i had all the technical info, then wouldn't that mean i was interested in it enough to research it? read lol. I wasn't trying to bring this thread back to life lol. I think if people are interested enough they will do their own research and the link i posted from my very first post would help them. I agree with you that this is turning into a "high school type blog" because of some members. I hate when members have their own conversation that doesn't pertain to the thread they are writing it in at all. It seems like the newer members like saying nonsense to get their postcounts up. Saying all new neon members are failures isn't all that true their have been some new members that have joined with some good information...

 

First of all I agree that it's a good idea to post more knowledge up on here, instead of random "LOL" all over the place like we see lately. I wasn't griping about that. I personally would prefer to see more technical stuff, and car-specific/performance/mod/appearance related threads, etc.

My gripe is with your whole quote:

There are knowledgeable people around here including myself... I don't post up a storm in the 2nd-gen area like I used to, or offer out answers to every thread any more to someone that has a question because of the exact same reason you mentioned... there are a lot of members here who simply are not interested in SERIOUS modifications, SERIOUS maintenance, fabrication, etc etc.

Some people here are, and most aren't, but I am not going to keep offering my own advice to people who ask questions, then I give an answer... and I get a response like "LOL... well I don't care I will just put kerosene in my windshield wiper thingy anyway thanx" ... Yes, it gets on my damn nerves and I don't check in this particular area as much as I used to.

But read my post again... you can stand by it all you want, but simply generalizing something and saying "new DF 2gn neon members" = FAIL isn't going to solve the problem. Even if you are right, it does not solve the problem... it just starts a bunch of crap. There are a couple of noobs in here that are new and are obviously interested in doing serious work to their cars, which is a good thing. There are a lot of noobs in here that are not serious about anything like that. That's my point... generalizing the statement the way you did rubs a few people the wrong way.

I am not pissed at anyone, but I am just saying... it gets on my nerves too, I posted a good link in this thread a while back and it seems no one took it seriously, but kept posting off-topic anyway. But I am not going to generalize with the entire group and let people guess who I am referring to. If I have a prob with someone specifically, I will just say it to them straight-on.

God knows I have never had a problem with that before... lol

 

My reason for demoting myself is in the OT thread.

The biggest problem in this section is joking around and bickering. If that stops, it fixes a lot. We have the OT thread for joking around and bickering.

Also, you might try emailing or PMing those who you miss that were tech worthy and arent around anymore. Let them know that DF has been fixed and there aren't forum issues and the section needs help.
