cats can get clogged but that dosn't mean you have to buy a new one

personally i would just buy some sea foam and but it in your throttle body and it should clean out everything...

i did that and noticed some gains...
you can put it in your oil or gas but you air intake would be quicker

remember if you do use seafoam then youll need someone to pour it in and keep it at a steady 2,000 and dont let it die....then it will burn and blue smoke will come out for about 5 min and its clean...

seafoam=best ever

I am having similar problem with my 2001 Neon with 90k miles.
Check engine light came on Code:"Downstream not matched"

Car would sputter upto 3500 rpm and complete loss of power.
I can push the gas pedal all the way and car won't accelerate.

Someone said clogged CAT. Had a new one put in and the problem is still there.
Same check engine light came on.

Checked fuel pressure, spark plugs, almost everything I could think of.
Car idles really nice but as soon as I put foot on the gas it will sputter and then take off.

I have found few people who have similar problems but none of them posted any solutions.

I am getting tired of spending money on this car.

Thumbs up Problem fixed. Re-gaped spark plugs

My problem is fixed. I was getting a misfire which was causing the car to loose power and run slugish.

Took the spark plugs out regaped them with the guage to standard specs and wallah car has got power now.
