Hi,

I had to remove my head on my 2001 Neon 2.0 SOHC...the manual says to look at the bolts to see if they need replacing....they look OK to me.....Do I really need to replace them ?.......if I don't what bad things can come from using the old cylinder head bolts when putting my head back on ?

No, you don't absolutely need to replace them unless they are worn; although if you plan on taking the cylinder head off often and have 100 bucks laying around, I would invest in them. Modernperformance.com has them.
