Im gonna try to fix the pm thing. Let me know what you come up with
I am going for sound quality, but at times would like to have a loud system.

If I were to go with jl I would get:
front speakers: JL Audio VR600-CSi
rear deck: JL Audio VR690-CXi
instrument panel cover: JL Audio TR350-CXi
I have no idea how to pick out an amp, so I'll let that go for now.
subwoofer 2x JL Audio 10W3v3-4

How does that look for a decent system?

Looks like your fronts are all set for a new set then. I would run your own speaker wire unless you know where everything is hooking up to and how thick is the power wire he left you? The vr series speakers are awesome. Sound decent for the money. As for an amp I would suggest a 5 or 6 channel so u can run one amp to do everything. Fronts rears and subs. ALSO sorry I forgot to clarify a componet set!! Thank you contagious) ANy other ?? PM me

I would get a six channel to run the fronts, rears and eventually the subs.
The headunit that i like has a little amp built in it so that would run the speakers on the front panel. I'm pretty sure my tweeters aren't even hooked up because i don't hear anything come out of them, and one popped out when my buddy closed the door.
I would get this headunit to replace the one that came in my car:

I have a couple more pictures of the wires left in my trunk.

The red wire is an 8 gage power wire that runs to the engine bay.
The 2 rca cables do run to the front of the car, but probly aren't hooked up to anything.
I have no idea what the yellow cable is or where is goes.
Then there is just some cables left from when the amp was diconnected

I'm guessing the 8 gage wire ain't gunna cut it for what i want to do.

the yellow wire might be your acc. wire for the amp, the one that tells the amp to turn on and off. but usually they are blue. but you never know.

Well for the price it is more reasonable to buy 1 thats all I was sayin, And nowadays the 5 and 6 channels are just as good as having 2 or more but if something goes wrong with it there goes all your beat. As for the wire yes it is an 8 gauge and is only good enough to maybe power up a small 4 channel. i would suggest upgrading to 4 gauge and that will give you plenty of power. As for the yellow yes it is probably a "remote urn on wire" from either you r ignition or hopefully the back of the radio. (it should be blue)
