Adding this in response to all of the PM's I am getting about this:

Where to find the sensor and how to remove/install it:
Looking at the engine from the front of the vehicle, it will be in the middle of the engine, on the backside, right above the exhaust manifold sort of tucked back a little bit. To get to it, you will need to reach down from the top of the car and undo red safety clip to get the connector off. The red clip basically slides and you just need to slide it to unlock it, and the connector simply pulls of which is why it has the little lock to keep it there. After that, use the above mentioned socket or same size wrench. The socket will save you lots of time and be much easier to use. Well worth the cost IMO if you don't have it, like I didn't. I put a little more thread sealant on my new sensor just to be safe. When I installed the new one, I just got it tight, then snugged it down. Reconnect the connector to the sensor, and you're done.

I really want some 15" Mini-SRT wheels. I have changed the wheel covers to a much better looking one, not so cheesy. Everyone likes the ones that are on there now better, just haven't taken any pictures since.

LOL, looking at your profile, those are the ones!

Gee - I love bringing old posts back to life (lol) but this is perfect! Exactly the location description I was looking for. Thanks Darth, you came through for me once again buddy (referring to the help with the tranny cooler a few months back).

On a side note: I did get the Neon finished last week. It passed the PA R-Title inspection as well as state inspection/emissions. It is now road legal again! Engine work didn't require too much for me to do considering how badly my sister damaged the body when she salvaged it.

But, last night I went to warm up the Neon...being that it snowed a few inches, and I had the same problem occur as y'all (Oil Press. Light on steady, normal oil level, etc.) However, unlike y'all getting the light to come on when the car was dead cold, my light didn't occur until it was all the way warmed lol

So I looked underneath the car and I did have just a tiny puddle of oil. After researching the issue on this forum all day today (at work) I decided to stop and get a new sensor, the 1 1/16" socket, 5 qts oil, & new oil filter. I figured the oil hasn't been changed since last year (minimum) before she wrecked it, so all of this can only do good! lol Hopefully tomorrow the snow will hold off and will give me time to get this all done in no time.

Oil gets thinner as the engine warms up, so the pressure goes down even more. Still sounds like the sensor.

Tomorrow, I get to try and replace a freeze plug that is under a motor mount that is under the exhaust manifold on the 5.8L...ugh.

Awe man Darth, good luck with that man! I definitely had my fair share of expensive repairs I had to do on the Audi I owned...hence why I got this Neon fixed and sold that thing ASAP. lol

GL bro!

Meh...I'd rather not use something that was made for an emergency fix for a permanent fix. I suppose if I cannot get the brass plug in without pulling the engine, I'll give it a go. I need the truck ASAP.

Let me know how it goes! I just cleaned out one of my garages which took hours and pulled the neon in - going to go change that sensor now, myself.

Darth, I located the sensor but am having one hell of a time getting the red locking tab off. The way that the sensor was screwed in, the red locking tab is on the side facing the passenger side (I can only see one side of the locking tab from up above). What is your advice on how to remove the tab w/o breaking it?

Update: I got to the sensor by removing the battery - left me plenty of room to work with. For any one about to attempt this, the red tab pushes out to one side - it does not slide out of the connector like I had assumed; afterwords, the connector pulls right off of the sensor. The sensor is best removed with the < $10 1 1/16" specialty socket. You can find this at Advance Auto, Pepboys, etc. Once I actually located the sensor and figured out the locking tab mechanism, it probably took me 10 minutes to change. If I had to do it again, it would take no time at all, guaranteed.

The Neon should now be ready to go. I just got done changing the oil pressure sensor, oil change w/ filter, new Rain-X repel wiper blades, checked & filled tire pressure, new spark plugs, and a new air filter. (Went a little overboard once I got started) The thing that I love the most...ALL of that completed and still for less than one oil change w/ filter for the Audi I just sold!!
