ok i have a few races coming up just for fun... nothin big.. and want to know if i have a chance...

here goes:
1. 98 neon with a 2.7 (atleast thats what he says it has in it but im not quite sure cause if you lok under the hood the valve cover says 2.4 DOHC) swap MT nd nothing else done to it... (im pretty sure im done on this one lol )
2. 98 Jetta GT Auto Tranny with a performance muffler (iv got a good feeling about this one)

my car: 2003 Neon SXT with Dual magnaflow muffler and 3 inch tips and Platinum Plugs and K&N racing Filter. AT but i am told with an open throttle it ****fts at yellow line (the area right b4 redlin)
we are draging from stoplight to stoplight there will be nmo tunrs involved

u prolly wont win the dragging since your AT but other 2 u should woop if it really is a 2.4 id say by about 3 car lenghts

 

You'll get owned by the neon...the jetta will probably be close, but i'm thinking you'll lose that one too.

 

well the kid with the jetta just plane cant drive... so thast the reason i have a good feeling about that one... i know that jettas are quick because of their weight but with 115 hp you think hell win?

 

Never heard of a neon with a 2.7. And the 2.4 would only be if he swaped motors. Any case I wouldn't put any money on either race. Course their motors could always blow up.

 

yea the neon kid wanted to put 20 bux and im like dude your gonna win you might as well just ask me for 20 bux... but ive known him for a long time and he is the best damn MT driver ive ever known and as far as the 2.7 goes... he said the guy he bought it off of swapped a 2.7 into it but im thinkin that mod is pretty impossible.. youd have to cut away a ****load of crap and i dunno if theres enough stuff in there you could cut away to fit it and the car would still work right... but who knows

 

could be wrong, but I believe that a 2.7 is not a dodge product. It is still possible, but I would bet its a 2.4.

 

If he does have a 2.7 or even a 2.4....he will blow you away if he knows how to drive. Even if he doesn't know how to drive, he should still blow your doors off. The jetta is definitely possible...I don't know how quick the Auto Jettas are. That one is definitely beatable.

 

my cousin has a 96 jetta gls, same motor as the jetta gt which is the 2.0 8v. Nothing to be scared of cause even though our neon is slow as a AT the jetta is a lot slower with not as power. The 2.4 neon will own you though.

 

I think you'll definitly beat the jetta. As far as the neon goes, I don't know If you can beat him if he did an engine swap to a 2.4 liter. Ive never heard of a 2.7 so can't tell if he's lyin or not.
