Turbo Neon
I have posted a coupe of other threads lately but have not been getting any real answers...
I have a 2003 neon r/t that i have just added a turbo to. The block is stock but i want to know what it can take (esp the bottom end). I am running about 10 psi and have around 210 whp with only touching the air/fuel ratio. Not the timing (that is my next step). I am looking for people who have done better then me without rebuilding the engine. If you have more hp then me...let me know what you did. Thanks alot.

correct me if i am wrong but u r running a hahn kit correct??? if so i believe that kit comes with the computer already "pre" turned????? i am not firmilar with the hahn setup, all i did is ran an safc II on my car and ran the numbers i have posted....... with some tuning it can be done to get higher numbers, but i am not sure on the hahn kit, how it is tuned and how it is made to be set up....

i do have a hahn kit. the computer that came "pre-tuned" was not perfect. I had the computer programmed by a very good company that helped me install the turbo. Th program hahn used was just tuned for one car that they did. My air/fuel ratio was all ****ed up with just their program. If i was to upgrade my interals, what would i need? how good is the crank shaft? I know i would need new pistons but not sure about the connecting rods?

If you want more power with out umping the boost and replacing the internals then you need to be able to make it breath better. You can upgrade your downpipe, add an electric cut-out, box style intake, upgrade your camshaft, port and polish your head,
I have a sohc (non magnum) running 8 psi that puts out the same power your are. You should be able to get to around 240 hp on your stock internals. I have a friend that was running a 16G on his 95 that dyno'd 252 hp on 10 PSI. How's your clutch? A lighter flywheel will also allow you to gain peak HP.
I don't know of anyone ever having a 2.0 crank fail. I wouldn't worry about the crank. Your rods will need to be replaced at the same time as your pistons. I don't know of a low compression piston that will fit the stock rods.
Are you running the hahn side mount? If so, I'd replace it with a FMIC. Well, there's enough ideas for you to get started (or to start saving for LOL)
Goodluck, PM me if you have any other questions I can answer!!!!
