Default Ticking sound at idle..

ok a friend of mine has a 2nd gen sxt he says it ticks at idle i can't really look at the car myself since he lives in texas but any idea what it could be? he recently replaced his ignition if that has anything to do with it i appreciate the help.

Most will agree that the "ticking" noise just means its a neon.

i wasn't sure if it was the same as the 1st gen i know every 1st gen neon i've ever seen ticked except mine lol when the motor only has 14k original miles you tend to have no noise even if its starts east solutions to fix it and thanks for the help i don't work on 2nd gens only 1st

yea thats how neons are. mine does the exact same thing and i have a 04 sxt. its noting to be concerned about

they say you can get your pisons re-aligned but its a waste of money.
