spark plugs.
ok im going to try and make this as short as possible without rambling on. so bear with me. since i work at autozone we get product info about new stuff every so often. now we are getting a new type of spark plug in stock in a couple of weeks. they are called the pulstar plugs. now i have heard of them before and i have visited their website prior to this but havent actually seen one first hand, nor have i used them. they are just going to be new to the store. the dm and store manager said that we are to "reccommend" these plugs to the customers with newer model vehicles. now im trying to get some info from the people on this fourm about these plugs. anyone use them or know of someone that uses them? any idea if they are worth all the hype or is it just one of those things where you try them and see what happens or if they are just a waste of money. any/all comments are appreciated on this topic.
I have heard of them. Seems like a wanna-be MSD ignition. I wouldn't buy them. I'd rather just buy a real deal multi-spark ignition system. Besides, $25 each?
Not a spark plug, but the first advancement in spark plugs in the past 100 years...
The Pulstar™ Pulse Plug is not just another spark plug!
The Pulstar™ pulse plug represents the first technological advancement in spark plug design in the past 100 years!

see at least im not the only one that is thinking this. most of the guys at work are thinking that these plugs are going to be a bad idea. as for plugs. what is recommend for the neons. ive heard of people using platinum plugs in them, but i dunno. i have a set of ngk v-power that are collecting dust that ive been meaning to put in. i was thinking about switching over to the msd coil pack and wireset as well. any idea if i should give those a shot or try something else.
The best plug for a stock Neon is the copper Champions that come in them. http://www.modernperformance.com/pro...oducts_id=1439
Here is what plug wires I will be getting when the time comes (only 2 ohms of resistance!): http://www.modernperformance.com/pro...oducts_id=1797

I wouldn't buy a new coil pack unless yours isn't working (assuming this is a fairly stock Neon = no major H.P. improvements over stock). You won't gain anything except a lighter wallet. Good plugs and wires are going to be your best bet for improvements in the ignition system.

msd is a reputable brand and does add power with whatever product you decide to get.i say go for it if you want to and it will only add power.a long time ago we posted a thread about what plugs people run and ngk-v power were always what most people ran. i know we stayed away from using platinum.
i havent done anything major to it yet. the only thing i have done so far is installed a cai. maybe getting another intake and throttle body. im looking at a few pieces but havent decided on anything yet.
