Rotor Recommendations?

When you Replaced the pads did you have the rotors TURNED ???
If not that might be most of the trouble , the rotors have ridges grooved in them from the old brakes , replacing the pads they are just hitting the tops not seating right ,
Also did you use any brake quiet on te rear of the pads when installed ???
I'd remove the rotors take them to a parts store that turns rotors have them turned (about $10/$20) for the pair ... if they are really bad they mighttell you they can't safely turn them , in that case replace them

lol i got some ebay slotted and cross-drilled too and i like them. i combined them with some ceramic pads and they work great.

Ok, well here's what Carmax bill said.
"Test drove to confirm noise from right front wheel. R&R r/f caliper & rotor o inspect. Rotor has rust causing noise. Rf rotor .834 & lf .830. Pads 12/32. Need to machine rotors and resurface pads.
I guess those decimals are rotor rust amounts? Is that bad? What about the pads? I'll probably get them replaced before summer, so what kind of rotors should I buy? Could I get them from NAPA (I got a store by me. Very convenient). I have a 2005 SXT, but it only has 25,000 and I already resurfaced the rotors and changed the pads once. Is something wrong maybe?

ok, so i think those numbers are how thick the rotor is. the first number is the actual thickness of your rotor and the second is how thin the rotor can get before you need to replace it. 25 -30K is about normal for stock brakes on a neon(at least in my experience). I went to http://www.summitracing.com/ and got a set of EBC dimpled and slotted rotors, with there EBC red stuff ceramic pads. now that was 2 years ago and my brakes are still in very good shape. btw they also stop much better than stock brakes imo. good luck on this.

He is correct those are rotor specs ... the current dimension is .834" and minimum safe is .830" that would mean that .004 could be turned off , if you have much grooving 4 thousandths of an inch isn't much to turn
