Default Rotor Recommendations?

My rotors have a lot of surface rust according to Carmax. That's why the front has a constant squeak while driving unless I apply the break. It's the front right of the car, and they say that the pad is rubbing the rotor because the rotor is rusty. To be honest, I have no idea and I'm pissed as hell about it. I guess the default rotors are ****ty.

What are some recommendations? I still get squeaks too when breaking, even after getting ceramic pads. So I guess that's from the rotors too, right? Anyways, I have 2 rotors, right? So what are some recommendations you guys could make for high quality ones? Is there a specific kind of rotor?

I'm not too car knowledgeable, just pissed off at Carmax for not helping me with these noises that are not normal. They say putting 7,000 miles on a car in one year is too little to be driving it. So that's why it has rusted.

if your pads are rubing against rust then its going to squeal. depending on how long your car has been sitting, your going to have alot of build up. i would suggest getting a new set of rotors. if your on a budget, go to your local auto parts store and get some new ones. you can get them for under $100 bucks with a lifetime warranty. if you have money to burn, im pretty sure someone on here can point you in the right direction on some high class rotors

Here is a link to the rotors I have. I have had them on for over a year now and love them, fairly inexpensive too. Drilled Slotted Brake Rotors

What do you guys think about the diagnosis by Carmax? I hear a constant squeal and they are claiming that the rotors are rusted rubbing against the pad. When I hit the break the squeak goes away (actually, when I slightly depress the brake, it gets a pitch higher. When I fully depress it, it goes away).

Sound plausible?

Do the Neon's have a wear indicator on the calipers? If so, you're pads may be getting low.

The pads have a wear indicators on them, and I would check your rotors yourself. Do a visual inspection and even rub your fingers on the rotor ( when its cool) and feel if there are any grooves or rough spots. You can normally see these issues too.

Powerslot, Brembo, and the other brands are fairly inexpensive and might be the option to go with. Carmax is a dealership and will try to get you to buy new parts all the time, since that is what dealerships do.
