Default Engine mounts?

On acceleration or over rough road I'm getting a loud clunk from the (rt?) engine area. I have changed struts and driveshafts recently. I am also having an issue with the torque arm rubbers tearing.
I think it may be the engine mount- the one that has the torx head bolt accessed through the fender well plug. It looks like the rubber in it is sagging and I can move the engine assy about an 3/4 inch with a jack before it stops moving. I cannot find this part anywhere also.

Has anyone had similar issues? How bad are these mounts to change?

Just to be clear, the mount I'm looking at has 4 bolts that go into the fender/wheel well, bolt head faces engine. I can only see the rt one, cannot see left one without removing battery & airbox.

Is prothane any good?

Sounds like you are describing the tranny mount that is under the airbox and battery (has 4 small bolts with one large one in the middle, on the driver side). The other two mounts (the actual engine mounts) have two bolts on each and are on the passenger side. The motor mounts are easy to change, just make sure to check the adjustment when you are done.

prothane started in 91 so just make sure you get the right part and you'll be fine.i doubt anyone on here has used em but it looks reasonable.check out your car and see which mounts you'll be changing

I think that's a pivot mount you speak of...it's extremely hard to get at(the one by the belt)

Are you getting any vibrations? Bad engine mounts will cause vibration. If you do get new ones, don't get OEM.

This is the mount I think may be part of the problem. I do get vibration while stopped.
I'm going to heat up the garage and look for the transmission mount and its condition today.

If I do need to change the pivot mount, any suggestions/tips? It looks like I'll have to tear down similar to timing belt replacement.( I did that about two years ago.) I hope I can sneak it out without major component/engine removal.

i had this exact problem man... check this out

you have a mount on the bottom of your engine, it bolts to your engine then goes to the frame, like an arm, iono maybe a shock absorber of some kind? its on the passenger side, ok anyways, on the end of the arm that attaches to the subframe, it simply slipped off the rubber mount.. therefore it was metal to metal clunking.. check that out and see if thats whats going on.. its easy to fix, but your problem sounds exactly what was going on with mine.. gl big guy
