hey guys i had the choice between 2 cars a 2000 civic or a 04 neoon rt ( only 2 cars that were manual in like 50 miles) but anyway i want to go fast so. its a 20 16 valve neon rt completely stock minus a new cam shaft sensor. what do i need to do to prep the engine for a turbo??? or am i just sol on that? plz post anything that will make my car go fast!!!

 

well how fast u want to go???? lol do u want like 250 hp, or 400 hp? the 250 can be accomplished by bolting the turbo on and getting a good tune out of it,

the 400 is alot more harder to get out of the 2.0 engine, due to a weak bottom end, the bottom end will have to be upgrated with forged pistions and rods, along with low compression pistons.... the tranny if u want to do it right will have to be upgraded as well to hit that kind of power and keep it in one peace.

out of curiosity how are hondas garbage? not trying to defend it...but i have a civic and a neon and i dont consider one over the other..just funny because some people rice out civics they are garbage

 

also they made a DOHC 00-05 neon?? i thought all were SOHC and then there were SOHC magnums only DOHC where srt4's??

if thats in reference to me i have a 2006 dodge charger r/t and a suburban 1500 plus my civic and neon...i have more then four bangers..so you can ummm get a life..thanks your comment had nothing to do with the topic

 

because honda is straight up trying to compete... Neons were dominating the rally scene so hond tried to make the civic better.... they didnt suceed, then neon made their engines better and honda still tried to compete and didnt compete, then they made the SRT-4 and honda still didnt compete

you put any STOCK civic, with a STOCK neon and theres no contest... Hondas are garbage

 

that looked dumb, lemme elaborate.... civics have been out for a long time... way longer than neons, but until neons came out, no one have ever heard of civics as a fast car.... soo honda tried to make the civic faster... when then neons were still dominating... the rally scene is where it was showing its ****... the DOHC magnum lasted till 1999 like you said, it was 150hp i think, and the civic was still competing... 2000- not sure about the horses, but i know the civic had a special engine, not sure what it was... but dodge came out with the ACR which was prett much the same, when it hit a certain RPMS it sucked more air in to the cylinders due to the intake, it was called duel something... god im so bad at remembering this lol... but then in 03 it came out with the SRT4 and nothing was able to beat it then mopar quit makin the neon and since, every other company has been able to progress and beat SRT4s
