Does the light stay on the entire time or when you are braking?

all the time, at first it was hit or miss, coming on mostly when it rained and i hit a puddle. then it started coming on more frequent, and the first stop i took would usually be pretty hairy, as the brakes seemed like they werent there. now it is on all the time, brakes are working fine, but the abs light stays on all the time.

The reason I ask if it came on and off is, if your pads are low, it can cause the ABS light to come on when you are braking. Takes more fluid to push out a low pad, so the fluid could get too low and come on at that point, then go away when you let off the pedal as the reservoir fills back up (speaking from personal experience here).

There are ABS Sensors on each wheel. It does sound like you may want to check those and the wires.

the pads can be checked off the list as a suspect they are under 6000 miles old. will check the sensors and wires when i get a chance. dont understand why that wouldnt show on a scanner though.

Yeah, I'm not too sure either. I'm don't fully understand what causes everything with ABS, especially the light.
