i am not a fan of srts i have to say..... alot of people around me are proud to have bought, i am proud to have built........... i give the people credit when building srts however..... the people that leave them stock and brag are the ones i can not stand.... i love beating the stock ones with my neon... LOL, it is fun

 

agreed buying something with a turbo and thinking its the shizznit..uncool now taking that same car and making it even better your okay in my books haha

 

Mine was mostly stock, yet you would have never beat me because I would never have raced you. I never raced on the street and did not get a chance to go to the track.

I agree there are a LOT of people that own SRT-4's and think they have some sort of gold mine. I thought I had a Neon with a turbo. That's it. I enjoyed it, but now I go back to what I enjoy even more, a Ram.

I hope you didn't take it the wrong way. I am not hating on Neons, but a Neon is an inexpensive car. The SRT-4 was 21k$ new. I bought mine used for under 14K$. Not bad for a 13 second car.

If you want a fast car for cheap the Neon is the way to go.

I kept mine stock because I have a 1971 Dart I am going to dump money into. A part of me was even thinking about mating a 6 speed manual to a 2.4 turbo. A BIG turbo, i.e. GT35R/GT40. It would be different than a standard small block V-8 and the parts for the 2.4L are pretty cheap.

 

yeah, i like the just a neon thing... it is fun to mess with people accually..... my favorate line is hey man "it is just a neon" till i open the hood.....

over memorial day my family was pickin on my car accually, (mostly becuase i do not have a trunk or bumper... when i left my cousin asked my dad, "why a neon?" and he told my cousin, it is all motor... first thing that happened when i cam back to the house the next day was he was over lets see under the hood.... all i said was it is just a neon... nothing more, nothing less....

he said that is not what ur dad says.... i opened the hood and he said holy ****....

now since i probably won't be able to find that mattdog adapter plate, i need to get a log style t3t4 manifold? thats the exhaust manifold, right?...

and, another question about turbos, how do you set how much psi you're pushing out?

 

oh and, what order should i get all this in, is there like, a cheapest -> expensive list you can make, like, whats the cheapest part on that list and whats the most expensive,just trying to make a buying guide for myself lol, prioritize things, if you will.
