Default So, i'm gonna turbo

so i've been talking to my friends, and just thinking about it for a long while, and i've decided i'm gonna throw a small turbo under the hood.

i've got the general idea of what needs to be done from this link in our forums...
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...d-updated.html

so what i've gathered from this, is to be safe run 8 PSI with a TD04 turbocharger, i could run 12 PSI if i'm careful.

the parts it seems i should get are
1. TD04 Turbocharger
2. SRT-4 Exhaust Manifold
3. SRT-4 02 Housing
4. SRT-4 Front Mount Intercooler
5. SRT-4 FMIC Piping (Hot and Cold Side) – The piping WILL need to be modified to fit around the 2.0 engine.
6. Mattdog SOHC to DOHC Manifold Adaptor Plate

1. Walboro 255lph High Volume Fuel Pump
2. Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator (RRFPR) – Chill Factory, Vortech, BEGI, Cartech, or Equivalent (Chill Factory is the best though).
3. 30lb Fuel Injectors or SRT-4 Stage 0 Injectors (2003). Stage 1 Injectors could work, but they are too large for a low boost application IMO.
4. Fuel Return Line – AaronNeon Return Line Kit or SpoolBoy mod **.
5. AOBE Map Clamp or Missing Link – The Missing Link is MUCH better but the AOBE is MUCH cheaper.
6. Wideband Air Fuel Ratio Gauge (A/Fr) – AEM UGEO or Innovative Motorsports.
. Melling M190 Oil Pump –Not necessarily required, but it has a stronger rotor which is less prone to damage from detonation and failure

**The Following Are the Components Needed For the Oil Return**

(2) Stat - O - Seals (-10AN) (1) A-N Bulk Head 90*. (-10AN)
(2) Bulk Head Nut. (-10AN)
-10 AN Stainless Steel Braided Hose
(2) Straight Hose End. (-10AN)

(1) -3AN Feed Line
(1) ¼ NPT Male Connector
(1) 1/8 NPT Female Connector
(1) 1/8 NPT to -3AN Adaptor
(1) 1/8 Tee (if you plan on running an oil gauge off the feed

1. Oil Pressure Gauge
2. Boost Gauge
3. Inline Fuel Pressure Gauge
4. Wideband A/Fr Gauge (previously mentioned).
5. Gauge Pods – I chose the SRT-4 single dash pod and the Modern Performance Dual Pillar Pod.
6. Upgraded Clutch (PT Cruiser Non-Turbo, SPEC, etc…). 7. Manual Boost Controller or Electronic Boost Controller.

so since i pretty much copy and pasted it from the site..lol anyways,

all i have done atm is a 4-2-1 racing header with the down pipe as well, and an after market ricer muffler (lawl) as you guys may have heard already, i had a post already.

i'm getting a CAI most likely this or next week, but after that, i'm lost on what to get next, any ideas, folks?

well if u plan on running an srt turbo set up u can always get a t3t4 log manifold off ebay for a sohc, (that is what i did) that is of course if u can not find a mattdog adaptor plate, check ebay for one, u may luck out.... but just be prepaired to pay a pritty penny for them, because people will often pay alot of them because they r getting rarer and rarer.... there is a log style manifold on ebay sometimes for the 2.0 sohc engines i went with that one honestly it works very well, i have not have any issues with mine whats so ever.... the problem is that u will have to get an exhaust made for the car, and that can get expesive... i would say start peacing the kit together, turbo, missing link, exc, and keep a look out for the adaptor plate... it honestly would prolly be cheaper than doing the exhaust and what not...

and yes u are correct, 8 psi u r fine, but 12 u BETTER have a exceptional tune!!! i ran 8 and had good luck with it, i was faster than a stock srt....

so, i need a lot of this to run 8 psi, right? cuz i was under the assumption, and i don't really know where i got it from lol, my mind can be weird sometimes, but there seems to be 2 options, one cheaper than the other that is,where you can run either 250 hp or 400 hp, 8 psi and 12 psi respectively, so i need to run all of this to run with 8 psi? or 12?

u will need the list of parts to run 3-40 psi... lol, it dont matter... after going higher than 8psi (12 with a good tune) u have to start building the internal engine with forged rods and pistions (low compression) honestly if u are looking for a cheaper build, just go with an srt turbo, and a mattdog adaptor plate.... that is going to be the cheapest way to go.... and honestly prolly alot less trial and error to... intercooler off an srt would work as well, just need to move the ecu.

hm looks like that mattdog adapter plate is gonna be hard to find, and and dt, the question is, would that setup be reliable? i mean i can probably do a lot of stuff on that list, but it'll just take me the rest of the year probably, not that its a problem, i'd love to work on this, but money is always nice to save if you can do it

edit: found this online, seems too cheap to be true, plus the guy only has 2 sells so i dunno lawl
edit2: same guy is sellin a lot of stock SRT 4 stuff if anyone is interested, though it looks like he went to a junkyard and took all the valuable sutff of an SRT 4 haha.

yeah the setup is reliable, people do it all the time with the 2.0s, that is how most accually do it if they peace togetehr a kit, if not u can always save up ur money and buy a hahn kit.......... but for around 4 k i think, u can peace together one for about half that...
