were the windows possibly cracked?? not meaning to sound like a smart ***, but i know that if u have rear passangers in the cars sometimes it happens, anyway, if not, check the weatherstripping around the door, see if it has leaked or is cut, or possibly just out of place....

check your trunk as well, when i first got my car the taillight sealing was broke and the trunk was flooded and it eventually got to the rear floor, luckily we caught before we bought the car and they fixed it, but yea check there, that can be it too.

Or in a lot of cases, a failed taillamp lens seal...

I just replaced the seal. Bit cheaper than new lights, but I suppose if one were going to get the Mopar 3D ones...

I had the taillight seal leak before and replaced it.ALL of the sudden just yesterday "mind you 2 years after the tail light leak" I found water in the rear carpet by ONLY on the pass side I took the panels off hose tested with helper on the door and water was pouring in the door through where the plastic seal behind the panel is to keep it going through the drains on the bottom of the door.I reglued the hell out of it and will be testing tomorrow to see if it worked.

NOTE;I went to the parts yard to see if I could find new window channel runs for the rear since thats where its coming in the door to begin with.I was SIMPLY AMAZED at what I found after tearing apart 5 neons rangeing from 2000-2005 and ALL of the had the same problem as mine I knew this because the bottoms of all the rear window channel runs where rusted to hell and back.

MORAL of this story is if you got a leak and its not the taillight seal, trunk seal, door seal, condensor drain, heater core, window down, drip rail seal, belt moulding seal.....THEN I would check your window channel runs and I BET YOU thats your problem.Just look at the bottom of the runs and it will be full of rust or pull of your door panel have someone do the water test and watch all that water run right out the bottom of that plastic seal thing thats behind your panel.......

If this doesent work tomorrow to keep out the water I am going and buying some cheap sheet metal and painting, drilling sealling and pop riveting it in the holes behind the panel.

Your welcome to ALL that have been nagged with the incureable mysterious water leak.

OK well that was for sure the leak on my neon because it doesnt leak no more.I ended up going the sheet metal route as stated above and it also made the inside of the car alot more quiet from the road noise...Win/Win.So if you have a leaky neon add this to the leaky spots to check.
