ok well im sitting at this long a** light in the city and i see a neon fly up next to me at the light.its about 2 am sat night/sun morning.there were 2 kids in the car.i had my music off cause i was talking to the gf so i heard him turn his music all the way down and then he reved at me.LOL.it sounded like a bunch of air and with my cut-out i didnt do anything.then all of a sudden my radar went off.so i looked over at him and said hey dont do it theres a cop somewhere.so the light turned green and we both started off slow and got up to the speed limit.there was a cop about a block away hidding really good so i saved his a** and my radar detector saved mine.he yelled thanx and that was that.so i think my radar has paid for itself about twenty times so does anyone else have one?

i had the same one but gave it to my friend who had an srt4 and he crashed it and broke my detector lol...but yeah i think they work really well saved me many times

 

what i dont get is laser detection on em cause once your hit your hit.but cops rarely use it around here thankfully

I used to have one, but it didn't really work all that great. I just don't speed or do anything stupid (as much) anymore. Oddly enough all the tickets I have gotten came when I had the detector....if that tells you anything.

 

I have one mounted on the top of the dash. I drilled a small hole to run a wire through, and hooked it right into the ciggy power wire, which turns it on when the key is on.
Did that mainly because I hate an array of plugs protruding from my dash ,,, Hooked my GPS up the same way.
But of course it also saves me from having to turn it on and off all the time.

It has saved me a couple times, I think.
Most of the time I am cranking my radio, and would not hear it anyhow.
Also has a basic compass, which comes in handy every now and then.

 

The compass was the thing I used to the most.

 

Yeah the compass was nice, kinda outmoded with GPS and all, but I don't always have the GPS on, and sometimes its nice to know if you are going north or south at a glance.
I know alot of folks have that built right into the mirror, I'm still stuck in the mid 90's though.

 

well just make sure its a high band.cobra makes a 6 band thats like 40 bucks and my buddy has it.a cop will go by and ill pick him up but my buddy wont.my 12 band was like 70-80 bucks and worth it for me.cobra is a really good brand besides their 6 band.whatever you do just dont get this cheap s***
