You will need an adjustable cam gear for this. Do you have one?

Do you have a tuning device? A/F gauge?

fuel management and a/f gauge has nothing to do with my post.the topic is cam to crank adjustment.

the cam should of had instructions on how much degreeing it likes and should be set there for most performance out of the cam.

Here is your straight answer. You are too dumb to do it. Here is why. Cam adjustments need to be scene through a/f gauge (tuning device I mentioned) or a dyno. Is it worth it on a sohc. Of course tuning a cam is important, but your car is not modified properly to reap such benefits. head work and cam should come second to having your engine tuned with an SAFC II , SAFC Neo, or MS. This is not something you pull out of a box and just do. As we have no idea where your neon is as far as modifications, we cannot very well tell you if your neon will see worth while gains at this point. Mileage, and overall engine condition plays a big part at with such work. Give more info and get more info smartass.

hmmm lets see you went throught the trouble to put a cam in but you want to know if it's worth the trouble to degree it and when i said it should be set at the degree the cam spec says and i'm not giving you a straight answer? I gave you the obvious set it or you won't gain power from your cam and it was not worth your money to even get the cam. What more do you want? Someone to come right over and degree it for you? All you asked was if it was worth it well yeah it is you spent the money on the cam might as well do it right and degree it.

Hmm, makes me wonder if degreeing will help rid my engine of a tick. Well it's more like a knock, narrowed it down to piston slap. Maybe throwing the timing off a bit might help? Maybe have it fire late so when the piston is going down it's more level(rod pulls on the piston, so it's dragged over the wall and not pushed into it catch me?) so when it does ignite it's not trying to bite into the cylinder wall as much.

Is this possible? Yall seem to know more about cams then I do.
