Default Pick me out a system..

Basically I know enough about Audio components as fat girl knows her feet. All I know is that I'm going to need to Dynamat half the car. So if someone is bored and wants to pick me out a couple subs, amp, and a reciever (if stock doesn't cut it) basically whatever else. Oh, I'm a fan of JL and Rockford Fosgate. So preferrably with those brands. My goal is to have enough power to hear it inside my school (I need to outbump a kid) I do have a 2k budget, but I'll be dammed if I spend that much. I'm hoping to stay in and around $6-800. Thanks in advance.

Screw jl and their overpriced crap, get your self two alpine type R subs and a 1600 watt powerakoustik amp. thats what i was going to do.. I worked it out so that i got everything (box, subs, amp, capacitor and wiring kit) and it was less than 650 bucks... As for speakers... I highly recomend mtx audio, based on personal experience, they rock.

ive been useing and installing JL products for 9 years and havent ever had any problem. On the other hand ive used and seen alot of blow RF subs (p3, t1, t2,) kickers, MTX, . I just went to my friends house to troubleshoot his alpine type s powered by a 500 RMS and that smoked his alpine.

If your really serious about this go orion.

I decided to go with 2 12' Alpine type R.. Still unsure of the amp. Probably poweracoustics or Rockford.. I guess What else do I need? Enclosure, I'm going to get an install kit from crutchfield about $60. But is there anytihng else? I see one guy posted a RCA converter thingy.. So what little things do i need? lol Thanks again everyone..

The converter is for stock radios or older headunits that don't have the two rca plugs in the back.

I'm assuming you already have a h/u correct? If not it is kinda pointless to invest in audio, since stock decks don't put out much power and they don't allow alot of tuning.
