Default 96 head on 01

is there anything else besides the head and headgasket that i will need? putting a 96 SOHC head on a 01 SOHC.

1 problem... EGR valve. It has to be blocked off,

A vendor on the .org has a plate for it, i believe.

You will have to use the 1gn valve cover and some sensor wires may need to be lengthened ( not to sure about this one).

I just noticed oil leaking from the right side of my valve cover. How much is a new head and gasket? I really want this fixed and soon. How much labor is involved?

smallblock, they are interchangeable, that is accually what i am running, u just need to use a block off plate for egr, and MAKE SURE TO CHANGE SENSORS OVER!!!! wiring u can use and also second gen valve cover u can use as well!

+1 i got a 1st gen engine dat im working on. just got to change the sensors and block the egr valve. karr depends on where u go get it done and its a lot of work

what sensors? Just the cam position sensor?

cam is the major one, coolant temp sensor next to it u have to change as well.... i think the coolant temp is the same, but i am not 100%

So i need to use my sensors on the 96 or use 1st gen sensors? Just making sure here.
