Code 0440
Something to do with the evaporative....0440
This is the code that recently appeared on my 04 SXT Neon, stock 2.0. What specifically do I need to check? Thank you.

Could be something as simple as a loose gas cap (It happens more than you'd think. Fixed a car recently that had this code simply by tightening their gas cap.) to cracked hoses to actual parts.
I've had that code along with p0441 for over a year now... Is it bad that I've ignored it so long?
I did the gas cap thing, code came back...
Replaced the Purge Solenoid... Still threw a code. (Dodge Service Manager's advice)
Replaced the PCV valve... Code stayed. (Dodge Service Manager's advice)
What else could I do, beside taking it to a shop?
Could it have to do with the rare, almost stalling but also revving up idle?

Just to make sure it wasn't gonna come on again, I deleted the code and it hasn't come on again. Might have been just something small to have thrown that code. But the squeaky brakes....well I haven't fully looked into it yet. I should do that as soon as possible, it was recommended to grease certain parts...according to the forum. Thanks for all the help!
Yeah, grease the slide pins (you'll have to pull them out of the boots and pop 'em back in. Make sure the boot goes back into the grooves on the pins.) and the contact points where the pads and caliper touch the knuckle (?), and use some CRC disk brake quiet on the back of the pads.
