What intake is best?
I have an AEM intake on my 2003 R/T and I have had problems, there is some resonating vibrating sound on it cause the throttle valve does not close all the way all the time, so it sounds kinda like blowing across an open bottle. My question is has anyone had similar problems? And if so, did you find an intake that worked without this problem?
Thanks

It sounds like u didn't install it right. I would think something's loose. Maybe something is wrong w/ your throttle body
. Is everything tight?
That's the first time I've heard of someone having that problem. I haven't had any problems w/ mine.

ive known a couple people who had the same problem with the AEM. it rubs up against the fender where it first enters it. both poeple simply used some wire loom to kind of "pad" that opening, and no more noise from the intake piping rubbing against it
i think one person just tightened his down too and it solved it. might wanna try one of those.
btw, theyve all shown to provide about equal gains for the 2g (out of the cold air intakes that go into the fender i mean)

NO, I triple checked and I am sure that I installed it right, I went in and loosened it, tightened it, made sure that the pipes touched, that they were not touching, it was rubbing the frame, then I moved it then it rubbed the fenderwell, then I moved it. I spoke to the Mechanic at AEM and he said that he has heard of this before, that it is just the way that it is for some models. The 2003 R/t. The Jeep Wrangler, and a few others. So I think that I am going to send it back in and get the K&N typhoon or 63 series. I can actually feel the pipe vibrating, and when I grab it, it does not stop. It is just air reverbarating in the pipe, it is not touching anything. And yes, I am sure that I got all the parts, cmon, this is my car, I am not going to half-*** it!! But thanks for the help guys. I hope to have the K&N intake soon.

Make sure there's no leaks anywhere. It sounds to me, by you're description, that it would make the sound as if you had just taken the intake off completely and drove it, so maybe there is a leak...my $0.02
I just bought a K&N typhoon intake from ajusa.com for $195. They have 2nd day delivery for $4.95 on all K&N products or free ground. Im just waiting to get it because they didnt have it in stock.
