Only $200? Both torque struts (they are not motor mounts) cost less than half of that, and those are actually broken on his car. The CV axles may be fine. You can't for sure say it's one thing when something else is broken that could be affecting it. That's like saying even though you know you have a bad radiator cap, and you leave it, you should just replace the radiator because that could be the problem too.

Well those go out if you got over 100,000 miles on your neon . Had to replace mine seeing I have 173,000 miles on my 04 sxt and had the same noise has this guy so I know it was both the mounts and the axles and I replace most of my front end stuff seeing so many miles I want to keep my sxt for awhile .Had a rough winter also took a toll on my sxt so many pot holes not to good for your front end.

That may be why you had to change them. CV axles aren't something that just wear out at 100,000 miles.

Exactly. So he may not need to replace the CV axles. He needs to fix the broken stuff first and see what happens.

Well I had the same noise and replaced the mounts and still had the annoying noise than I replaced the transaxle and lower control arms also and that took care of my annoying noise . I looked at the reciept and thats what I bought and husband replaced for me. So maybe you can go have your dodge dealership or tireshop look at your front end and they can pin point the problem. I had my oil changed at my dodge dealership and they inspected my neon and found those problems.
