sounds like wheel bearings. did you check both sides? jack the front of the car up and see if there is any play in the front wheels. move them from side to side and up and down.

-Also if it's a wheel bearing, you might be able to tell which one it is when you go around a turn. If the noise gets louder when you turn left, then you know it's the right wheel bearing because that is is taking most of the load. Vice versa if you turn right.

It is not the wheel bearings. It sounds like it is coming from the middle of the car. Any new suggestions??

Have you replaced the broken mounts yet? That probably isn't going to help if you leave them...

The CV axles will have a little play in them. Is this car a 5spd, or ATX.
Replace the mounts and then see if your noise goes away.

Start with the smaller, easier to change, and less expensive broken things first to see if it eliminates the problem.

the cv axles only cost me 200bucks to fix seeing my husband and I put them on with the motor mounts . You have to shop around for a good deal on the bigger things anyways they have to be replaced sometime. Not hard to change the bigger things if you have 2 people doing it.
