Default 3 speed automatic?

looking to purchase a driver side axle and i was ask do i have a 3 speed automatic..i have a 2000 neon automatic.so do i have 3 speed hmmm

I believe you should- IIRC, the 4 speed was available in 2002. Easy way to tell too is if you have a "D" on the shifter pattern, or a "D" with a circle around it. 3 speed transmissions, as far as I know, don't have overdrive so you would just have a D with no circle.

i have had a 2002 and a 2001 first year for the 4spd was 2002 yours is a 3spd. has D then 2 then L

definatly a 3 spd im in the same boat 2000 neox lx here..

thanks alot guys..now another question how different is the 3 spd axle and 4 spd axle differ from a 2000 to a 2002 also whats a goo d axle you guys recommend.thanks again

A direct replacement should be just fine. Just buy one for your year and be done with it. If there is one for 2000-2001 and then 2002-2005 when the two different transmissions were used, that'll answer your question.
