I check the RockAuto parts catalog and they list two similar Gates part numberss:

TCKWP245A and TCKWP245B. From the link that darthroush posted: http://chronoscender.freeservers.com...imingbelt.html
and the corresponding Gates part pictures, the difference is the tensioner. Would the correct part to buy for a 2003 2.0L be the TCKWP245A?

Thanks

darthroush,

I realized I should also do the thermostat when I do my timing belt replacement.

Is this the correct part#: 05278144AA

If I'm reading the description correctly it's the thermostat + seal/gasket

sooo true. i just changed the head on my car. an 05 it SUCCCKEEDDDDD and the one i got was the gates kit. just gotta make sure you get the right tensioner theres a mechanical or a hydraulic tensioner thats the only issue i ran into. and here in canada the parts are wayyy more expensive than down there... now.... to fix the fact that it wont idle at all.... hmmm if anyone could help with that id be set

My son gave me his '05 Neon SXT in 2020 when it had 120,000 miles on the OD. He never bothered to replace the shot motor mounts nor install a timing belt kit at 105,000 miles. I bought all four mounts and the TB kit to do that myself then didn't bother due to health. Got that done by auto shop in town in early 2023 when the OD now read 129K. The mechanic showed me the old belt saying it still was in reasonably good condition. Wasn't hard with few cracks but was starting to lift along the edges. He figured it would've held up for another 15 to 20K of easy old man driving before it would cause problems.

So my neon has almost 300,000 kms on it and i think has never had a new timeing belt, and it run a little rough, do you think putting on a new one would fix all that. And my oil light is starting to show up on the dash
