Another old guy here. I got one just because we keep cars forever it seems like-usually ten years or better. So the K&N pays for itself over the years. There really was no difference in performance though.

That is why I'm going to get a reusable one next time around. A paper replacement is about $15-$20, whereas a resuable one is about $40-$50. Change the paper air filter more than twice, like I already have, and the gauze filter has paid for itself.

K&N claims you will see a horsepower increase but it's highly unlikely really.

There are those..."eBay" chips that claim you will instantly see 50+HP gains too. Maybe they just don't work on my cars?

Hah I've seen a guy buy a new PCM for his Porsche from Ebay that said it would increase like 100hp and the car wouldn't even start after it was installed. Funniest thing ever.

Well K&n filters and intakes are way popular and been around forever and has been proved to help a little with hp and gas mileage just ask others who actually have had one or have one. In my op best air filter ever way worth the money.
